JEFFERSON HERALD - Thursday, October 28th, 1926 - George Albert Wiggins, aged 79 years, died Sunday at his home at Cooper and his funeral service was held at the Cooper church Tuesday afternoon. Mr. Wiggins was past seventy-nine years of age at the time of his death and lacked only a few days of being eighty years of age.
He was born in February 1847, and his death occurred on the 24th day of October, 1926. He was one of the pioneers of this section of the state and was well-known by many of the older residents of the county. Burial was at the Cooper cemetery and the funeral was attended by a large number of the older residents of the county.
Mr. Wiggins is survived by his wife, Mrs. George A. Wiggins; five daughters: Jennie Wiggins, Mrs. Walter Downes, Mrs. Lula Lawton, Julia Wiggins and Mrs. Chas. Van Amburg of Yakima, Washington; and three sons: Frank Wiggins, Jay M. Wiggins and Lee E. Wiggins. All of his sons and daughters were present at the funeral except Mrs. Van Amburg of Yakima, Wash., who was not able to make the trip. The pall bearers were Ben Schilling, James Pugh, W.H. Lawton, Ransom Pittman, Edward Davis and John Knodle.
