ATHENS -- Mrs. Mattie E. Adams, 88, of 21309 Upper Fort Hampton Road, Athens, died Sunday at her residence. The funeral was today at 2 p.m. at Spry Funeral Home with James Turner and Grad Tanner officiating.
Burial was in New Garden Cemetery.
Mrs. Adams was a member of Beulah Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include three sons, Harry L. Adams of Hendersonville, Tenn., Mahlon Reed Adams and John David Adams, both of Elkmont; three daughters, Polly Ann Crabtree of Ardmore, Tenn., Shirley Louise Tyler and Cordelia Robinson, both of Elkmont; 21 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
