Mrs. Ella Dodson Dies At Carthage
Widow of Late J.P. Dodson, Life-Long County Resident, Made Home With Daughter
Carthage, Mo., Oct. 30--Mrs. Ella Dodson, 70-year-old widow of J.P. Dodson, and virtually a life-long resident of Jasper county, died at 11:45 o'clock this morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Robert Cox, 1021 Walnut street.
Mrs. Dodson, who lived at 1029 Walnut street, went to the home of her daughter yesterday, where she became ill. A physician was summoned last night and he attended her again this morning. Her condition was not regarded as serious. Death occurred suddenly as a result of heart failure.
Surviving are three sons, Ray Dodson, of route 4, Theodore Dodson of Joplin and Cecil Dodson of Parsons, Kan,; the daughter, Mrs. Cox of Carthage; one brother, James Bryan of Sarcoxie; two sisters, Mrs. Eliza Willoughby of St. Charles and Mrs. Foland of Carthage.

Family Reunion Held
Carthage, Mo., April 24.--A family reunion was held Sunday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. J.P. Dodson, 1029 Walnut street, in honor of Mrs. Dodson's sister, Mrs. Mary Giles of Cuba, Mo. It was the first time the two sisters had met in ten years. Those present were Mrs. Jess Wells of Joplin, Mrs. Julia Golibart of Carthage, Mr. and Mrs. C.A. Carver and daughters, Kathleen and Iva, of Sarcoxie, Mr. and Mrs. John Walker and daughter, Donna Bess, of Lakeside, Mr. and Mrs. Ben Willoughby of Monett, Mrs. Minford Dodson and children, Dorothy May, Betty and Billy, of Sarcoxie, Theodore Dodson of Joplin, Mr. and Mrs. Orba Dalton and sons, LaVaughn and Marvin, of Carthage, Mr. and Mrs. James Bryan of Sarcoxie, Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Green of Carthage, Mr. and Mrs. Dee Haggard of Neosho, Mrs. Mary Giles of Cubs, Mr. and Mrs. J.P. Dodson and son, Cecil Dodson, and Mrs. Elizabeth Willoughby of Lakeside.
