Adam, Bertha E.
Bertha E. Adam, 95, of Independence, died at 1 p.m. Thursday at Glenwood Estate nursing home where she had lived since 1992.
Graveside services will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at Mount Hope Cemetery with the Rev. Mike Adam, grandson of Mrs. Adam and pastor of the Independence Baptist Church, officiating.
Friends may call at Potts Chapel until 5:30 p.m. today, and from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. Saturday. Friends may then call at the cemetery from 9:30 a.m. until service time when the casket will be closed.
Mrs. Adam was born July 15, 1901, in Wymore NE., to James and Lucy (Blair) Boswell. She moved to this area with her family in 1911 and attended school here.
In 1919 she married Charles P. Adam and he is deceased.
Survivors include four sons, Charles and Harry Adam, both of Independence, Billy Joe Adam, California, and Jerry Adam, Wichita; 18 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
