Calvin Frank "Kelly" Bowser, 87, of Worthington, died Monday, Jan. 21, 2013, in Armstrong County Memorial Hospital. He was born Oct. 12, 1925. He was the youngest and last surviving child of the late Frank and Maude (Bruner) Bowser. Kelly was born on the family farm in West Franklin Township, where he lived his entire life. He retired as a dairy farmer. He was a member of Franklin Union Baptist Church, in Worthington, and belonged to the Florida Shuffleboard Association. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, the former Jean Norton, whom he married Sept. 30, 1950; daughter, Kathy Deabenderfer, of Davenport, Fla.; son, Kevin (Pam) Bowser, of Worthington; four grandchildren, Kellie Howard, Jeremy Deabenderfer, Joshua Bowser and Bridget Mechling; and eight great-grandchildren, Karlee, Madison, Randy Howard, Addison Mechling, Abby and Emily Deabenderfer, Belle and Abraham Bowser. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son-in-law, Randy Deabenderfer; two brothers, Harry C. Bowser and Roy K. Bowser; and three sisters, Zelma Claypoole, Margaret Detrow and Lula Pfeil. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the F. DUANE SNYDER FUNERAL HOME, in Worthington. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Franklin Union Baptist Church, in Worthington, with no visitation at the church. The Rev. Scott Jones will officiate.
