Jean Elaine (Norton) Bowser, 88, of Worthington, died Wednesday, Dec. 10, 2014, at Armstrong County Memorial Hospital. Born Jan. 4, 1926, in West Kittanning, she was a daughter of the late Blair and Ethel (Snyder) Norton. She married Calvin "Kelly" Bowser on Sept. 30, 1950, and he died Jan. 21, 2013. She was a member of Franklin Union Baptist Church in Worthington. Following graduation from Kittanning High School, Class of 1943, she worked at the Register and Recorder Office at Armstrong County Courthouse for 13 years. Jean is survived by her daughter, Kathy Deabenderfer, of Davenport, Fla.; son, Kevin (Pam) Bowser, of Worthington; four grandchildren, Kellie Howard, Jeremy Deabenderfer, Joshua Bowser and Bridget Mechling; 10 great-grandchildren, Ayla and Gareb Rosensteel, Karlee, Madison and Randy Howard, Addison Mechling, Abby and Emily Deabenderfer, Belle and Abraham Bowser; and one brother, Donald (Donna) Norton, of Kittanning. Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Randy Deabenderfer; and three brothers, George Edward, Stanley Ray and Henry Carl Norton. Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the F. DUANE SNYDER FUNERAL HOME, Worthington. A funeral service will be held at noon Saturday in the Franklin Union Baptist Church with her church pastor, Scott Jones, officiating. Burial will be held in the Franklin Union Baptist Church Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Franklin Union Baptist Church.
