Mrs. Chancey McCune Is Called by Death
Funeral services for Mrs. Chancey McCune were held Monday at II am at the Kuelbs & Braun Chapel with the Rev. Robert Oestreich officiating. During the services Mrs. Gene McManus sang two favorite hymns of Mrs. McCune accompanied at the organ by Mrs. Robert Morse. Interment took place in the Cashmere cemetery. Hy. Rieke, Earl Milbrath, Burt Kuhnert, John Flagel, Sol Dormaier and James Parkins served as casket bearers.
Cordelia McCune daughter of August and Christina Rhode was born August 10, 1892, at Morrison, ILL. She grew to womanhood in Illinois. She was married to Chancey McCune on August 15, 1915, at Liberty, Mo. Following their marriage they moved to Olivet, Kan., when they operated a wheat ranch. They moved to Idaho and lived there until 1983, coming to Leavenworth to make their home until 1944 when they moved to Cashmere.
Mrs. McCune passed away in a Wenatchee hospital last Friday at the age of 58. A member of the Lutheran church.
Surviving are her husband Chancey of Cashmere, two daughters, Mrs. John Stokes of Portland, Oro., and Mrs. Arthur James of Illinois, one son. Leo C. McCune of Cashmere, one sister, Mrs. Marion Swick of Illinois and one brother, Ferdinand Rhode residing in Wisconsin.
