According to Andrew B. Booth[who was at the time of publication, Commisioner of Louisiana Military Records] in his "Records of Louisiana Confederate Soldiers and Commands" - New Orleans 1920, page 1268/VolumeIII/BkI:

" Nestor, Hannibal, Pvt. Co. E,8th La. Inf. En. June 11,1861, Camp Pickens. Roll for July and Aug., 1861. Absent,sick,at Culpepper,since Aug.7 Roll for Sept. and oct., 1861,Died Oct. 10, near Culpepper,Va. Born La.,occupation printer, Res. Winnsboro,La. age when enlisted 18,single."
