Eugene N. Eckart, 69, of Subiaco, a retired carpenter, died Friday. He was a Catholic, World War II veteran, member of American Legion, Knights of Columbus, Catholic Knights of America and St. Benedict's Mens Society. Survivors are his wife, Louise Schneider Eckart of Subiaco; four sons, Raymond and Chris Eckart of Subiaco, Tony Eckart of Little Rock and Francis Eckart of New Blaine (Logan County); three daughters, Lou Trusty of Subiaco, Rita Eckart of Phoenix, Ariz., and Mary Elaine Davidson of Greenwood; two brothers, Rev. Placidus Eckart of Fort Smith and Vincent Eckart of Subiaco; three sisters, Cecilia Gorrell of Subiaco and Sisters Bede and Christine Eckart of Little Rock; and seven grandchildren. Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Benedict Catholic Church. Burial will be in Benedict Catholic Cemetery by White Funeral Home of Paris. Rosary will be said at 7:30 p.m. Monday at the church.
