Sister Bede Eckart, age 87 of Fort Smith passed away Wednesday, September 22, 2004, in Fort Smith, Arkansas. She was a teacher for 32 years and taught in Arkansas, Missouri, Minnesota, and Kansas, and also taught all levels primary, junior high, senior high and college. From 1986 to 1993 she worked in the Pastoral Care Department Saint Vincent Infirmary Medical Center in Little Rock.
Vespers were held at 7:30 p.m. at St. Scholastica Monastery Chapel, Funeral Mass was held at 1030 a.m. Saturday, September 25, 2004, at St. Scholastica Monastery Chapel with burial at St. Scholastica Cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of Fentress Mortuary.
She is survived by one sister, one brother, Father Placidus Eckart of Subiaco, Abbey; and numerous nieces and nephews.
