"Ms. Dean taught chemistry at Central Washington University from 1928 until she retired in 1968. During her tenure she was advisor to pre-dental and pre-medical students, many of whom went on to the U. of Wash. med. or dental school. Dean Hall, a science building constructed on the Ellensburg campus in 1968 was named for Ms. Dean. She was also an early recipient of the CWU alumni award and was listed in Who's Who of American Women. She was a member of the American Assoc. of U. Professors, Amer. Assoc. of U. Women, Amer. Chemical Soc., Sigma Xi, Phi Kappa Phi, Phi Upsilon Omicron, Retired Teachers Assoc., Washington State Education Assoc.-of which she was a past president, Memorial Hospital Guild in Ellensburg, Orthopedic Hospital Guild in Olympia and both the Ellensburg and Lacey chapters of PEO."
