C.C.Ritchie Passes Away
Charles C. Ritchie, 88 years old, died Monday, May 7, 1945. He was one of Meade County's oldest and most highly respected citizens. Mr. Ritchie lived his entire life on the farm where he was born and died, the old homestead being one a century old. After the death of his wife seven years ago, his son Bernard and wife lived with him. No one could have been more devoted to a father than they were, his wife gave him with loving care and cheery smiles, every attention he could have had.
Mr. Ritchie was a retired farmer and leaves five sons and five daughters, fifty-two grandchildren of whom twelve are in the armed services, and nine great grandchildren. Surviving are, Mrs. Jake Sipes, Miss Maude Ritchie, Mrs. Jodie Thompson, Mrs. John Payne, Bernard, Elbert and Sam Ritchie, Pvt. Ralph A. Ritchie of Camp Atterbury, Ind., and Gas Ritchie, Manitobia, Canada.
Funeral and burial services were held Wednesday at St. Martins Church by Rev. Paul Russell
