Barbara Joan Bradshaw moved with her family from Denver, CO, to Roanoke, AL, at the start of her eighth grade, graduating from Handley High School there in 1955. She returned to Denver and received a degree in Journalism from Colorado Womens' College in May 1957. She married Fetner Oscar Robinson, her high school sweetheart, in Denver on 23 March 1957. They later lived in Atlanta GA, Gulf Breeze and Pensacola FL, Albuquerque NM, Indian Harbor Beach FL, and Melbourne FL. They had one son, Gregory Michael Robinson.
