Born April 14, 1916 in Salt Lake City to William Wallace Douglas and Irene Sarah Langton.
She married Gwen Spencer Gray on February 27, 1965 in Elko, Nevada and the marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple.
"Berdie," as her friends knew her, worked for the LDS Church at the Granite vaults for ten years. She was an active member of the LDS Church and worked in various church callings. Berdie was very active in the Pony Express, supporting her husband, Gwen, in yearly rides.
Bertha is survived by her husband, Gwen S. Gray; two sons and one daughter, Richard W. Saley, Robert A. (Anna) Saley, Susan Cazier (William) Barker; three step-sons, Harold G. (Iris) Gray, Spencer E. (Kathy) Gray, Norman M. (Jackie) Gray; she is also survived by four sisters, one brother, 30 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren. Bertha was preceded in death by her parents, a brother and one step-son.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, January 3, 1997 at 12 noon in the Country Park Fourth Ward Chapel, 11200 South 2700 West, South Jordan. Friends may call at the Larkin Sunset Gardens Mortuary, 1950 East Dimple Dell Road (10600 South), Sandy, Thursday evening 7-9 p.m. and on Friday at the Ward Relief Society Room, 10;30-11:30 a.m.
Interment: Larkin Sunset Gardens.
