HOLTON - Elvin Edward Watkins,56, Rte. 1, Holton, died at his home Wednesday after suffering an apparent heart attack.
He was born May 19,1915 in Nemaha County and had lived in the Holton community for the past 25 years. He worked as a salesman for the Jordan Bakery Co for 14 years and was a member of the Holton Saddle Club.
He was married to Goldie Whaley Nov. 25,1937 at Soldier. She survives.
Other survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Judy Anweiler, a son, Leslie Watkins, both of Holton; his father, Harvey E. Watkins, Topeka; and a sister, Mrs. Betty Springer, Topeka; 3 brothers, Glenn Watkins, Olton, Claude Watkins and Francis Watkins, both of Topeka; and 3 grandchildren.
Services will be Friday at Mercer Funeral Home with burial in Soldier Cemetery.
