2 April 1925: Confined to bed for the past two years and a half as the result of a dislocated hip sustained in a fall, Mrs. Christiana Davis, 77 years of age, of South Annville Township, died at the Lebanon Sanatorium on Wednesday afternoon, at which institution she was stricken with apoplexy, on Saturday afternoon. From the time she was unfortunate enough to fall, the deceased was taken to the Sanatorium, where she remained until the end came. At no time from the first day when, she took her bed was she able to be on her feet again. Last Saturday afternoon she was stricken and was in an unconscious state until Tuesday, when she was able to talk to the nurses in charge and members of her family who were with her at the bedside when she breathed her last. Being a patient at the local Institution for two years and a half, she was well liked by the doctors of the staff and nurses who were in charge. Other patients who were able to be about the Institution spent a great deal of their time with the old lady. She was born and reared in Bellegrove, where she was well known and had many friends who mourn her loss. The deceased was a member the Seventh Street Lutheran Church, where before she was confined to bed she was an active member and assisted greatly in the promotion of the church and Sunday school work. Funeral Director Rohland is in charge of the body to be prepared for burial on Monday, April 6th, at Mt. Lebanon Cemetery, with services at the residence of a daughter, Mrs. William Allwein, 352 North Fifth Street. Lebanon. The following survive: daughters, Mrs. Salome Christman, Dover, N.J.; Mrs. William Allwein, Lebanon; Mrs. Harvey Bixler, Annville; Mrs. Edward H. Donley, Harrisburg; sons, Arthur C. Davis, Annville; Ray P. Davis, Harry D, Davis and Charles W. Davis, Lebanon; brother, John Boger, Annville; sisters, Mrs. John Fritz, Lebanon; Mrs. John Gundreman, Harrisburg; Mrs. Morris Kleinfelter, Middletown, and eighteen grandchildren.
