WENATCHEE _ Evelyn E. ``Chub'' Ream, 59, a longtime resident of Wenatchee, died Wednesday, Sept. 23, 1992, in Central Washington Hospital.

She was born June 26, 1933, to Daniel and Lillie B. (Linkem) Avey at Peshastin. She spent her early years in the Peshastin//Leavenworth area and worked in an apple packing warehouse before her marriage.

She met her husband, Kenneth C. Ream, on a blind date. They were married on July 16, 1949, at Wenatchee.

Mrs. Ream owned and operated her own business, Evelyn's Baby Sitting Service. Her daycare children called her ``Mama Chub.''

She was a member of the Boating Club of Wenatchee.

Survivors include her husband, at home; two sons, Richard D. of Everett and Charles M. of Cashmere; four brothers, Jack Avey of Everett, Charles Avey of East Wenatchee, and Phillip and Marvin Avey, both of Marysville; five sisters, Dixie Wallace of Malaga, Doris Hutson of Wenatchee, Darryl VanVelkinburg of Ephrata, Sylvia Weiss of Arlington and Linda Tomlinson of East Wenatchee; and five grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Patricia, and a brother.
