Richard Burl Shockley, 91, of Dublin, died Friday night, May 27, 1901, in the Highland Manor Nursing Home, Dublin.

Born Aug. 11, 1901 in Virginia, he was the son of the late Henry E. Shockley and Mary Jane Gord Shockley.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Edna Nester Shockley.

Surviving are one daughter, Jean S. Norwood of Richmond; one sister, Elizabeth Rorrer of Pulaski; one half sister, Ledlia Hylton of Gibsonville, N.C.; one grandchild Roy H. Roope of Richmond; and one great grandson, Jason Roy Roope of Richmond.

The funeral will be 11 a.m. Monday at Stevens Funeral Chapel, Pulaski, with Dr. Manson B. Tate officiating.Burial will follow in the New Dublin Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Pulaski County.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Stevens Funeral Home, Pulaski.

The family will be meeting at the residence of Roy Nester, 819 Dublin Road, Dublin.

Stevens Funeral Home, Pulaski, is in charge of arrangements.
