PIONEER OF AREA DIES IN SHERIDAN
Mrs. Elizabeth Achenbach of Sheridan who would have observed her 90th birthday March 9, died Thursday at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Lola Sack, 1005 LaClede.
Mrs. Achenbach was a pioneer of the Sheridan area, having lived in the community 75 years coming here from Cedar Bluff, Ia. She was born March 9, 1871, in Chicago and was married to the late Emanuel Achenbach on July 4, 1887, in Ohlman. He preceded her in death in 1944. One brother, Joe Graff, also preceded her in death.
She is survived by nine children, Bert Achenbach, Auburn, Wash.; Florence Davidson, Calvin Achenbach and Mrs. Lola Sack of Sheridan; Wallie Achenbach, Dayton, Urban Achenbach, Route 2, Vance Achenbach Sheridan; Mrs. Nora Maxted, Route 2.
She is also survived by a number of grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Amanda Achenbach, Sheridan, and also a half-brother, Charles Graff (47267494) of Sheridan.
Funeral services will be Monday 2.p.m. from Champion's with the Rev. Harry E. Chapin, pastor of the First Christian church, officiating. Burial will be in the Sheridan municipal cemetery.
