June 8, 1900 - Storm Lake Pilot Tribune - P.M. Beam died Saturday morning, June 2, of abscess of the stomach at his home three miles east of Storm Lake. He had been ill but a few days.
Deceased was born in Jones county, Iowa March 2, 1850 and with the exception of one year he lived his entire life in his native state.
He was united in marriage with Miss Elizabeth Gustin Dec 28, 1871. Eight children were born to bless this union, four boys and four girls: Nellie May, Arthur who died Dec 25, 1892, Lena Gertrude, Oscar Lee, Edna Pearl, Ira, Maud and Harry Eldon.
The funeral under the auspices of the Court of Honor of which deceased was a member, was held Wednesday from the Christian church. There was a large attendance of sympathizing friends of the deceased and of the family. The remains were laid to rest in the Storm lake cemetery.
