Services for Mrs. Irene Whalen were Saturday in the Pollock Presbyterian Church. She died July 5, 1961 of a cerebral hemorrhage, aged 59. Rev. C. B. Cedar officiated. Burial in the Dale Cemetery. Irene Della High was born Aug. 26, 1901 in Vermillion County, Illinois. She married George Roy Tennant July 30, 1917. He died April 30, 1924. She married Charles Whalen in Mound City, Oct. 7, 1926. Survivors are her husband, 3 sons, Marc Tennant of Portland, Ore., LeRoy Tennant of Lemmon, South Dakota and Albert Whalen of Pollock, 2 brothers, Marion High of Pollock and Alfie High of Portland, Oregon, 4 sisters, Lillie High of Mobridge, Mrs. Carl Heimbuck of Herreld, Mrs. Willis Cleveringa of Custer, South Dakota and Mrs. Robert Burrington of Bonners Ferry, Idaho.
