Born and lived on land near this cemetery most of her life. Attended MS State College for Women at Columbus. Returned home and married. Lived in this area until WW2 when she moved to Hernando to live with a daughter.

"Mrs. Irma Crawford McPherson passed away at 4:45 Sunday morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Earl Milam in Hernando, after a long illness. She was 70.

Services were held at 11 o'clock Monday morning at the Hickory Grove Baptist Church. The Rev. Hubert McClure and the Rev. W. E. Corkern officiated and interment followed in Dean Cemetery. Hernando Funeral Home was in charge. Honorary pallbearers were members of the Board of Deacons of Hickory Grove Church: J. W. Harris, S. S. South, C. M. Hodge, Robert Richardson, L. A. Ferguson, and Joe Crawford. Active pallbearers were Dick Crawford, Howard Price, Raymond Crawford, Ralph Ogle, and Les Ferguson.

Mrs McPherson was born in Tate County and was graduated from Mississippi State College for Women at Columbus, a member of the Baptist Church, she was a gentle, Christian mother. To know here was to love her.

In addition to Mrs. Milam, she leaves another daughter, Mrs. Raymond Waldrop of Senatobia; three sons, James McPherson, E. L. McPherson, and Charles McPherson, all of Indianola; two brothers, Joe Crawford of Hickory Grove community and Frank Crawford of Senatobia; two sisters, Mrs Lonnie Wallace of Hickory Grov community and Mrs Payne Hall of Senatobia; 18 grandchildren and one great grandchild."
