Born second daughter and fourth of eight children to Hillard and Franziska Hagar Rockweiler in Cazenovia, Wisconsin. Catherine met and married John Adam Eckart. After the birth of their second daughter, they decided to move. They first went to Speilerville, Arkansas and then to Subiaco, Arkansas and remained there. They had six daughters and three sons. One daughter joined the Benedictine Order of Nuns in Fort Smith and became Sr. Fidelis.
