Mollie Wells Dies in Boone

Mrs. Mollie Wells, a former resident of Laurens was buried here yesterday afternoon. She died suddenly Saturday evening at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Elsie M. Norton in Boone. Funeral services were held at the Norton home yeaterday forenoon and the body brought to Laurens for burial. Rev. W. H. Knotts conducted short services at the grave.

Mollie B. Wells, daughter of Henry and Lucinda Leonard was born in Story county, July 23, 1868 and died as stated above at the age of 66 years, 3 months and 4 days. She joined the Christian Church at the age of 18 and continued in that faith until her death. She was united in marriage to Charles Wells at McCallsburg, April 13, 1887 and to this union six chidren were born. They lived in and around McCallsburg until 1892 when they moved to Laurens where the husband died February 14, 1890. She continued to live at Laurens for some time but her later years had been spent with her children.

She leaves to mourn her death, two sisters, Mrs. Mabel Robinson, Nevada, Iowa and Mrs. Civilla Johnson of Cedar Rapids; 6 children, Elsie M. Norton of Boone, Iowa; Edith M. Walker, Mapleton, Minnesota; Ethel J. Walker, Maseca, Minnesota; Emma L. Campbell of Lake City, Iowa; Edward L. Wells of Rock Lake, North Dakota and Pearl E. Staver of Sioux Falls, South Dakota and 25 grandchildren. All the children and all but six of the grandchildren were present at the funeral.
