Dorothy Ellen Dwight, 91, New Point, died at 6:35 p.m. Friday, March 24, 1989, at Margaret Mary Community Hospital in Batesville, Ind.

She was born Sept. 8, 1897 in Metamora, Ind., the daughter of Makquis Jackson and Clara Mathews. She was first married to Charles Fessler, and he preceded her in death in 1965. Her next marriage was the Preston Dwight, and he preceded her in death in 1974.

She is survived by a son, Clarence Usher, Cincinnati, Ohio; a daughter, Ruth Marie Kessens, Batesville, Ind.; two half sisters, Myrtle Jackson, Spiceland, Ind., and Alma Pollard, New Castle, Ind.; six grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Batesville with Bishop Fred W. Rockwood officiating.

Burial will be in Maplegrove Cemetery in Brookville, Ind., following the funeral.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Porter-Oliger-Pearson Funeral Home in Greensburg and the church from noon until the funeral at 2 p.m. Monday.
