NEW CASTLE--Alma L. Pollard, 87, passed away Monday afternoon at Henry County Memorial Hospital. She was born in Metamora, IN, the daughter of the late Marcus and Nell Moore-Jackson.
She had been employed by the YMCA, Andrew's Laundry Mat, and Chrysler High School cafeteria. Her most enjoyable times were those spent with her family.
Mrs. Pollard was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church and the Trinity United Methodist Women.
She leaves to cherish her memory a daughter, Martha Lee (husband-John) of New Castle; a grandson, Dr. John David Lee of Muncie; a granddaughter, Stephanie Garrett (husband-Marty) of New Castle; great-grandchildren, Allyson, Andrew, and Austin Garrett of New Castle; a sister-in-law, Dorothy Runyon (husband-Bruce) of Dayton, OH; a brother-in-law, Jerry Hyden of New Castle; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; and her loving care givers, Lillian Howe of New Castle, Phyllis NcNelis of New Castle and Donna Gaither of New Castle.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde, whom she married on Oct. 13, 1938, and who died in Feb. 1981. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Myrtle Jackson.
Services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Macer-Hall Funeral Home with the Rev. Glenn Kercheval and Rev. Howard Addison officiating. Burial will follow at South Mound Cemetery. Friends may call Wednesday from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
