Leonard Grissom, Jr. of Mitchell, IN, died Friday, May 24, 2002, at his residence. Born on May 9, 1931, in Lawrence County, IN, he was the son of Leonard and Laura (Wedgewood) Grissom, Sr. He married Carol Judy on August 2, 1965, and she died on June 6, 1998.

Surviving are five sons: Jeffery Lee Grissom, Billy Leonard Grissom, both of Mitchell, IN, Michael Grissom, Thomas Grissom, and Richard Grissom, all of California; two daughters, Sharon Louis Grissom of Seymour, IN, and Lisa Grissom of California; three sisters: Betty Calfee of Mitchell, IN, Maude Dorsett of Indianapolis, and Christine Burkle of Terre Haute, IN; one brother, Robert Grissom of Indianapolis; and fourteen grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three brothers: James, Earnest, and Raymond Grissom; and three sisters: Violet Gamble, Sylvia Sharp, and Anna Plump.

He was a carrier for the Times-Mail and was a US Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Cecil C. Martin American Legion Post No. 250.

There will be graveside services for Leonard Grissom at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, May 26th, at Mitchell Cemetery with graveside military rites accorded by members of Cecil C. Martin American Legion Post #250 and Marvin R. Davis Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #9107.
