Mrs. Flora Clark Akers, 77, of Allisonia, died Sunday night in Pulaski Community Hospital. Born May 14, 1898, in Allisonia, she was the daughter of the late William Clark & Montoria Hanks Clark. She was the wife of the late Millard Akers. Surviving are five daughters, Mrs. Ruth McCormicky of Pulaski, Mrs. Marie Patrick, Brentwood, MD, Mrs. Mildred Jacobs, Rockville, MD, and Mrs. Effie Cox and Mrs. Geneva Rodney, both of Allisonia. Also, one sister Mrs. Nannie Sutphin of Leesburg; two brothers, E.V. Clark, Galax, and Everett Clark of Salisbury, NC; and 21 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. The funeral will be Tuesday at 3 p.m. at the Allisonia Pentecostal Holiness Church with the Rev. Theodore Johnson and the Rev G.K. McDaniel officiating. Burial will follow in the Allison Family Cemetery in Allisonia. Friends may call at Stickler's this evening.
