McCLELLAN J. WARREN, 79, East Main Street extended, Wayne Heights, died at 10:30 a.m. today at the Waynesboro Hospital.
He was found unconscious at his home Saturday night, the apparent victim of a stroke, and moved to the hospital. His condition had been critical the entire time.
Mr. Warren had lived alone since the death of his wife in 1956, and Saturday when he failed to put in an appearance at his usual haunts, his friends went to his home to investigate.
He was born at Fountaindale, son of the late Isaac and Mary (Cline) Warren. His early life was lived in the Fountaindale area. He served with the Army several years, returning to Fountaindale following his discharge in 1912. In 1914, following his marriage to the former Miss Sallie Fisher, he moved to Eyler's Valley, near Thurmont, where he and Mrs. Warren made their home until 1938. That year they moved to Wayne Heights.
Mr. Warren had been a farmer during most of his life and had been semi-retired for the last several years.
He was a member of Harbaugh's United Church of Christ. He was also a member of the AF&AM Lodge of Emmitsburg.
He is survived by a son, Robert C. Warren, Gardenia, Calif., seven grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. Lillie Hull, Zora.
Funeral arrangements will be announced later.
