Harrison Richey, 93, of Eldred, died Sunday morning, May 31, 2009, at Boyd Memorial Hospital in Carrollton. Born in Woodville Oct. 30, 1915, he was the son of the late Walter and Lillie Walter. He married the former Goldie Herring on May 29, 1937, in Carrollton, and she survives.
Also surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Lee and Sandy Richey of Eldred and Bob and Mary Ann Richey of Carrollton; seven grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Frances Diggs of Morton. He was preceded in death by a sister, Opal Borman, as well as his parents.
He was a longtime carpenter and veteran of World War II, serving as an Army medic.
Services were entrusted to Airsman-Hires Funeral Home of Carrollton, Illinois.
