WILLIAM E. STUART
Malad - William Evans Stuart, 84, 54 W. 3rd N., died Tuesday at his home of a heart ailment.
Mr. Stuart was born June 15, 1877, in Malad, a son of George and Jemima Evans Stuart.
He was a lifelong resident of Malad and had been a painter and decorator.
He was married to Mary Ann Thomas on Nov. 16, 1904, in the Salt Lake Temple.
An active LDS Church worker, he was a high priest in the Malad Fourth Ward and had been a ward teacher for 40 years. He was a charter member of Malad City Volunteer Fire Department.
Surviving are his widow, the following sons and daughters: G. Bartha Stuart, Ogden; Grant and Max Stuart, Twin Falls, Idaho; Mrs. G. E. (Hannah) Harris, Mrs. Paul (Merle) Mills, both of Malad; Mrs. Ralph (Jennie) Cate, Compton, Calif.; Mrs. Fenton (Elsie) Briggs, Pocatello; Mrs. Lonnie E. (Christie) Smith, Sheridan, Wyo.; Mrs. Leonard (Anita) Swanson, Salt Lake City; 25 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, one brother and four sisters, Evan Stuart and Mrs. Jemima Opperman, Malad; Mrs. Agnes Burnett, Riverside, Utah; Mrs. Zina Robitaille, Seattle, Wash.; Mrs. Ann Coleman, Salt Lake City.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 1 p.m. in the Malad Fourth Ward Chapel with Bishop J. A. Servoss officiating. Friends may call at the family home tonight from 7 to 9 and Friday until 12:30 p.m. Interment in Malad City Cemetery, directed by Benson Funeral Home.
