Mr. Robert Lee Maddox Sr., of 3485 Wrightsboro Road, Augusta, Georgia, husband of the late Mrs. Katie Ann Ford Maddox, entered into rest Friday, October 4, 1957, at a local infirmary following an extended illness. Funeral services will be conducted from Platt's Chapel Sunday afternoon at 3 o'clock, the Rev. J.P. McKinnon and Rev. W.W. Byington officiating. Interment will be in Maddox Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Curtis Maddox, Harold Maddox, J.C. Maddox, Wilbur Maddox, Earl P. Maddox and Howard Maddox. Honorary pallbearers will be P.H. Rowe, W.M. Brown, M.M. Murphy, H.M. Parrish, A.F. Parrish and R.G. Flake. Mr. Maddox was born in Richmond County, the son of the late Reese Maddox and Frances Hall Maddox. He was a retired farmer and a member of the Abilene Baptist Church. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Katie Bonham of Augusta; five sons, Robert L. Maddox Jr., and James F. Maddox, both of Augusta; Joseph R. Maddox and Earl P. Maddox, both of Gracewood, Ga., and Robert G. Maddox of Appling; 28 grandchildren; a number of great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
