Born in Germany, when her parents came to America, she stayed behind and married Anton (Anthony) Glantz, a Saxon, who had drifted onto the Palatinate. After 3 years they came to America and arrived at the Port of Philadelphia aboard the British Ship Minerva, September 17, 1771.

During the migration, the name Glantz had been Anglicized to Glance.
