Owen married Alpharetta King on 4 September 1887 at the age of 19 at the George Davidson Home (the Davidsons raised Alpharetta since she was a baby).
He and Alpharetta proceeded to have six children: (1) Mary Elizabeth Ridgway Seever Ward (1890-1939; (2) Fred Wigginton Ridgway (1892-1955); (3) Lillie Mae Ridgway Parker Wills (1894-1982); (4) Lula L. "Leois" Ridgway (1895-1895); (5) Mildred Marie Ridgway Harlow (1897-1978) and (6) Alpha Jane Ridgway Davidson (1900-1980).
Owen died at the age of 67 on 25 October 1935 at the age of 67 in Carlisle, Sullivan County, Indiana.
