CHARLES EDWARD BRIGGS

Charles Edward Briggs, youngest son of John and Elizabeth Briggs, was born May 29, 1870 in Marion county and died at the Baker nursing home in Chariton May 17, 1955 at the age of 84 years, 11 months and 18 days. He had been in failing health for the last nine years.

He was united in marriage to Demmie Wright Oct. 25, 1899 and to this union four children were born, Eva of Melcher, Arthur and Millie of Chariton and Roy of Williamson. Besides his wife and four children, he leaves to mourn two daughters-in-law, two sons-in-law, 13 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death were his parents, six brothers and one sister.

Funeral services were held at the Beardsley funeral home Thursday, May 19 at 2 p.m., conducted by the Rev. A. E. Beals. Burial was in the Coal Glen cemetery.
