Edward C. Mattison
Edward C. Mattison, 64, 216 Countryside, died unexpectedly Wednesday afternoon at Grace Hospital. born Aug. 20, 1905, at Crete, Neb., he married Dora Trent, Nov. 4, 1925 at Hutchinson. she died Jan. 24, 1967. He married Leah Nelson, June 22, 1969, at Hutchinson. President of Decker-Mattison Heating and Airconditioning Company, he had lived here most of his life.
Mr. Mattison was an avid fisherman. He returned a month ago from fishing with two grandsons at Great Bear Lake in the far north country. He had been there two previous years, and half a dozen mementos of his fishing prowess are mounted on the walls of his office.
He was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church, the Masonic Lodge 124, United Commercial Travelers Association, and th Kiwanis Club.
Survivors include the widow; sons, Jack, 2610 Derenda Drive; Larry, Arvada, Colo.; daughters, Mrs. Robert McNeil, 221 East 13th, Mrs. Jack Warford, Burbank, Cal.;brother Clarence 533 E Campbell; sister Mrs. I.A. Montgomery, 2205 N VanBuren; 12 grandchildren.
Funder will be 3 p.m. Saturday at the Elliot Chapel; Rev. Clarence J. Berger. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Trinity Methodist Church Building fund. Friends may call at Elliot Chapel Friday, from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
