Jack E. Mattison, 84, died Feb. 23, 2015. He was born July 6, 1930, in Hutchinson, the son of Edward C. and Dora V. (Trent) Mattison.

Jack was a 1949 graduate of Hutchinson High School and a 1951 graduate of Hutchinson Junior College.

He married Barbara F. Knowlton on Nov. 22, 1950, in Hutchinson. She died on Dec. 4, 1999. He then married Mary Ann Comes on Aug. 29, 2002, in Hutchinson.

Jack was president of Decker-Mattison Co. Inc., working there his entire life until retirement in 1996. He served in the Army National Guard, was a member of the American Legion Lysle Rishel Post #68, Crossroads Christian Church, the NRA and Ducks Unlimited.

His survivors include: his wife, Mary Ann; son, Brett and wife Colette of Hutchinson; daughter, Cindy Freeman and husband Alan of Hutchinson; brother, Larry of Colorado; sister, Susie Warford of New Mexico; four grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, Mary Ann’s children, Mike and Jane Keffer of Springfield, Mo., Julie and Mark Pittman and their son, Adam of Sapulpa, Okla. He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara; his parents; son, James T. Mattison; and a sister, Lois McNeil.

Funeral will be 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 26, 2015, at Crossroads Christian Church, 43rd and Monroe, Hutchinson, with Pastor Wayne Pittman officiating. Burial will follow at Penwell-Gabel Cemetery and Mausoleum, Hutchinson. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson.

Memorials may be made to Crossroads Christian Church or the Alzheimer’s Association, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
