She was born Oct. 11, 1917, in Nappanee to Frank and Eva (Kring) Slabaugh. On July 13, 1940, she married William Dale Christner. He died Jan. 8, 2009.
Mrs. Christner is survived by one son, John (Judy) Christner of Middlebury; two grandsons; two stepgrandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two stepgreat-grandchildren; and one sister, Mary E. Watkins of Nappanee.
She was preceded in death by five siblings, Wilson and George Slabaugh, Lola Hahn, Dorothy Klotzbach and Mona Heckaman.
Mrs. Christner was co-owner of Christner Oil Co., Nappanee, for many years. She was an active member at Grace Point Presbyterian Church, Nappanee, and a member of Nappanee Order of the Eastern Star and the Thursday Club.
Friends may call one hour prior to Saturday's 11 a.m. funeral service at Grace Point Presbyterian Church. The Rev. Terry Tyler will officiate. Burial will be in Hepton Union Cemetery, Nappanee.
Memorials may be given to the church.
