Charles was the son of George and Elizabeth (Lynch) Cochran. He married first to Anna R Allender in 1881 and they were the parents of five children: Clarence, Frederick Grant, Nellie Grace, Theron Charles and Mary A. He married second to Ada Miller in 1898.

Resident of Fairfield for Many
Years Stricken After
Long Illness

Fairfield, Ia., Nov. 28 0 Charles E. Cochran, a well known Fairfield resident, passed away at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Ben Murphy, three and one-half miles east of the city this morning at 3:30 after a long illness.
Funeral services will be held from the Hoskin's funeral home Monday afternoon, at 1:30, in charge of Dr. W. S. Smith of the Methodist church and burial will be in the Evergreen cemetery.
Mr. Cochran was born in Glasgow, Ia., Feb. 3,1859. He is survived by three sons, Clarence, Fred and Theron and two daughters, Mrs. Ben Murphy and Mrs. Guy McCormick, all of this vicinity. His wife passed away several years ago. he also leaves 16 grandchildren. Mrs. W. E. Chandler and W. S. Cochran of this city and Mrs. J. H. Allender of Birmingham are his sisters and a mother.

He is buried with a joint headstone with Ada Miller Cochran; their headstone is flanked to the north with the burial of Anna R Allender Cochran.
