Albert James "A.J." SHARBONO was the son of Rosalie Angele BEAUTRON-MAJOR and Joseph Charbonneau/Sharbono.
Alert was born on August 2 1848 in St Polycarp, Soulanges, Quebec, Canada. On August 5 he was baptized "Alphonse Etienne" Charbonneau.He is a descendant of Oliver Charbonneau. In 1848 his family left St Polycarp and went to St Lawrence County in New York where they lived until about 1869. They then moved to Kasota County in Minnesota. The Sharbono's daughter Mary was born in Kasota in April of 1870 and shortly after that Albert's mother died.

27 Dec. 1871 - Albert married Emily DEMARAIS. They were married in St. Peter, Nicollet Co, MN, Father Luzek presiding and Emily's brother Robert and sister Rosa as witnesses.

Albert James "AJ" Sharbono and his wife Emily Demarais moved onto the White Earth Indian Reservation in 1899. This is located in Mahnomen Co, MN. AJ was still working as a horse trader until a few months before his death at age 83.

DEATH OF A PIONEER
Albert J. Sharbonon, died at the home of his son Frank, west of Mahnomen on Tuesday, Januuary 12, in his 91st year, after an illness of three months, from heart failure. He was taken sick while on a trip last fall, taken for the purpose of selling some horses.
Mr. Sharbono was born in St. Lawrence county, New York, on August 3, 1941. When he was twenty years of age he was married to Miss Emily DeMarre, sister of Joe Demarre, of Mahnomen, who died at White Earth, four years ago last fall. The marriage occured at St. Peter, Minn. They settled on the reservation forty-three years ago. They were the parents of sixteen children, the oldest, Amous, would have been 63 years of age had he lived. Other members of the family are Albert of Plamordon, Alberta, Canada; Mrs. Rose Resimious, Tribune, Mo.; Mrs. Mary Santwire, Waubun; Mrs. Emily Stocker, Genoa City, Wis.; Mrs. Flora Bement, Waubun; Mrs Josephine Lafriniere, deceased wife of Joe Lafriniere, Mrs Maggie Moen of Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, Canada, William Sharbono of Grand Forks, ND, John died when baby, Mrs Agnes Lafriniere, Coleraine, MN, Frank Sharbono living west of Mahnomen, Israel "Bud" Sharbono, Marsh Creek, Olivia, Charles and Gust; all deceased.

Those living close to Mahnomen were present at the funeral, the others could not get here. The surviving members of the family desire to express their thanks to friends and neighbors for the help given them during the long illness and after the death of their father. Contributed
