MUNCIE Clyde Alton Clark, 80, passed away at his home early Tuesday morning, October 31, 2006. He was born in Helenwood, Tennessee the son of Willard Guffery Clark and Cordelia (Cecil) Clark on April 11, 1926. Clyde grew up in Scott County, Tennessee during the Great Depression, where he attended the Burchfield School. As a young man he served in the U.S. Army during World War II and received the Purple Heart after being wounded in France. He married Ethel (Raynor) Clark on February 28, 1948 and moved his family to Muncie in the early 1950's, where he spent the remainder of his life. Clyde is survived by his wife, Ethel; two daughters, Wanda Resler and Rosemary Clark; one son, Wayne Clark; four grandchildren, Tim Resler, Jason Resler, Tonya Resler and Brooke Clark; four great grandchildren, Timothy Resler, Pierce Resler, Noelle Resler and Justin King; one brother, George Clark, (wife-Joyce), Norfolk, Virginia; and two sisters, Wilda Clark Slaven, Muncie, and Dorothy Campbell, (husband, Mark), Camby. He was preceded in death by a brother, Floyd Lee Clark; and a son, Larry Allen Clark. Clyde was devoted to his family and loved them very much. Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday in The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory, Washington Street Chapel. Burial will follow in the Gardens of Memory Cemetery, north of Muncie with Military Rites by Veteran of Delaware County Honor Guard.
