Ralph LaMar Baird passed away May 19, 2009 at his home after courageously enduring a battle with mesothelioma (cancer). Born July 23, 1933 in Lewiston, UT to Ralph V. and Melba Obray Baird.

After fulfilling an LDS mission in Western Canada, he married his eternal companion, Shirley Bright in the Logan Temple on November 2, 1956. To this union were born two sons and four daughters.

LaMar is survived by his wife, Shirley; son, Randy (Linda) Baird of Syracuse; daughters, Cindy Hardison of Layton; Laurette (Matt) Judd of Bountiful; TeRia (Bill) Gentry of Grantsville; Valerie Baird of San Diego; brother, Claine Baird of Richmond, 31 grandchildren, and 17 great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his son, Terry; and son-in-law, Philip Hardison.

A special thanks to Dr. Greg Miller, Amy, Kristine, and Mindi of Pinnacle Hospice for their love, service, and dedication.

A viewing will be held from 5:00-8:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 21, 2009 at Russon Brothers Mortuary - 1941 North Main, Farmington (across from Cherry Hill). Following a viewing from 9:30-10:30 a.m., funeral services will be held May 22, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. - Crestwood Stake Center - 855 East Mutton Hollow Road, Kaysville.

Interment at the Kaysville City Cemetery.
