Griffith Miles his father, James Miles, and brothers James, Richard, and David Miles were from Llanfihangel Helygen, Radnorshire (now Powys), Wales and arrived in Philadelphia in 1682 or 1683. They were Quakers.

Sep 28,1693; Martha, b. Oct 12, 1695; Margaret, b. Apr 9,1698; Griffith, b. Dec 3, 1700; Samuel, b. Sept 1703; and John, b. Apr 26,1709;
He was baptized as an adult at Pennepack Baptist Church on July 9, 1697 (Pennepack Church records). The will of Griffith Miles is dated March 28 and proved in Philadelphia June 13, 1719 (a discrepancy regarding his January 1719 Pennepack Church record date of death).
