Mrs. Jacob Krick, a pioneer settler of Union Township Adams county, died at the country home Monday evening, April 16 after weeks of sickness. The deceased was 74 years, 2 months and 20 days of age, having been born in Wayne county, Pennsylvania January 19th 1832. At the age of about 6 years she with her parents moved to Medina county, O., living there 6 or 8 years, when they came to Adams county Indiana. They settled in Union township which was then a wilderness, there being only about 1-2 dozen families living in the township. Julia Bevelheimer was married to Jacob Krick, October 21st 1849 by David Erwin a Justice of the Peace and settled on a farm adjoining her father where she has since resided, living continuously on the same farm for a period of over 56 years. To them were born 12 children, 6 sons and 6 daughters, 3 daughters and the husband having preceeded her to the spirit world. Her husband having died July 10th 1904. She was brought up in the German Lutheran church, Bethlehem class, known as Kings church, where she remained a member until her death. She leaves a brother, Daniel Bevelheimer, a retired Pennsylvania railroad employee; 6 sisters; 3 daughters and 6 sons beside a host of friends and acquaintences to mourn her departure. She was highly esteemed by all who knew her. The funeral was held Wednesday at the Kings church and interment in the graveyard near by. Henry Krick and other relatives from here attended the funeral.
