Mr. Huckaby was a Stone Container employee. He was a member of First Assembly of North Hodge. During WWII, he served in the U.S. Marines and received the Purple Heart and other medals.

He is survived by his wife, Christine Gray Huckaby of Quitman, LA; two daughters, Janice H. Bell and husband Gerald of Quitman, LA, Angela Marie Howard and husband Cliff of West Monroe, LA; and two grandchildren, Jeremy Crawford Bell and wife Lori of Springhill, LA and Chase Everett Bell of Quitman, LA.
