Lee Otis Jones, 56, died Friday morning in Candler County Hospital following a short illness. he was a life long resident of Evans County. He was a veteran of WW2 and was a farmer and logger.
Survivors: Wife, Mrs. Rita Crosby of Claxton; Three sons: Ronald, Donald, and Randy Jones all of Claxton. Five sisters: Mrs. Erma McCorkle of Statesboro, Mrs. Elva Wilson of Brooklet, Mrs. Nan Wise of Savannah, Mrs. Cleta Sikes of Reidsville, Mrs. Lavada Hodges of Jesup; three grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Sunday 2 p.m. in the NeSmith Funeral Home Chapel with Eld. Wilmer Lynn officiating. Burial was in DeLoach's Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Dannis Smith, James Smith, Larry Jones, Barry Spence, David Howell, Barry Odom, Allen Lewis and Francis Turner.
