Rev. Howard Herring Passes To His Grave

Just before going to press we learn that Rev. Howard Herring who has been hovering between life and death, at Methodist Hospital at Hattiesburg for the past week, died this morning. His condition was thought to be improving and his son, C.H. Herring of our town, who had been at his bedside had returned home, when the message came yesterday saying he was rapidly sinking. Rev. Herring was well known here having visited the home of his son quite often and also was pastor of the Nebo charge at one time. He had been connected with the Methodist conference since a young man and it can truly be said that he "served", his life was devoted to the work of his church and the good of humanity. He was conscientious and faithful in all the relations of life.
Funeral services, we understand will be held at Wrights Church Monday afternoon at 1 o'clock.
He is survived by his wife and sons.
