Services for Bruce Hatfield, 84, Canton, were held Monday, January 25, at Eubank Funeral Home Chapel, Canton with Reverends Lynn Mullins and Ronnie Daniell officiating. Burial was in Haven of Memories Memorial Park. Mr. Hatfield died January 23, 1999, at his residence.
He was born March 17, 1914, in Foster Oklahoma, to the late Embria Calvin and Medora Susan Jordan Hatfield. He grew up in Hopkins County and served in World War II in Burma and India. He moved to Delta County, then to Grand Prarie, and Canton in 1970. He owned and operated Parkway Grocery for about 15 years and was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Survivors include his wife, Inez Davis Hatfield, Canton; brothers, Loyd Hatfield, Van Buren, Arkansas, Chester Hatfield, James Ray Hatfield and J.L. Hatfield, all of Canton, and B.J. Hatfield, Wills Point; and sisters, Laura Francis, Denton, Fern Robinson, Texarkana, and Mary Sikes, Grand Prairie.
Pallbearers included Phil Robinson, Dennis Hatfield, Danny Hatfield, Rodney Hatfield, Gary Hatfield and Ray Burl Hatfield.
