The boys changed their name from Apland to Aplin. He married Adeline E. Iverson on 29 May 1902 in Mandan, Morton County, North Dakota. Throughout his working life, they lived in various places, including, North Dakota, Montana, Idaho, and Oregon. Addie and Charlie had three children, two boys and a girl. Their daughter Lola died in Idaho at the age of 16. Charlie and Addie retired to a small acreage near Beaverton, Oregon. They enjoyed their time together on their little "farm".
