Professional Basketball Player. For five seasons (1955 to 1960), he played at the small-forward and shooting-guard positions in the National Basketball Association with the St. Louis Hawks and Cincinnati Royals. Born Medford Raymond Park, he was raised in Lexington, Missouri. He made his first impression on the basketball court during his years at Wentworth Military Academy and after receiving an athletic scholarship, he played collegiate basketball at the University of Missouri. After graduation, he initially played for the Washington Generals (1955), prior to being signed by the St. Louis Hawks. Contributing off the bench, Park experienced a world championship with St. Louis in 1958, as he shared the court with a bevy of Hall of Fame players of which included Bob Pettit, Cliff Hagan, Slater Martin and Ed Macauley. While with the Cincinnati Royals, he produced a career-high 641 points during the 1959-1960 season. In 313 career regular season games, he compiled 1,924 points.
